What are the ethical considerations in an interview?


Recently, employment processes have been facing ethical issues. This has been a source to obtain and employ incompetent employees who later hinders an organizations from achieving its strategic objectives. It should be also remembered that employee are Human capital with long-term existence in a company thus their recruitment and selection should be careful handled. For an organization to acquire strategic competitive advantage, people are key players towards this success.

Ethics - means morals and values held by a person, organization or culture.

Some concepts related with ethical issues are as follows;

Truth - means the presentation of personal information that is exact. in some cases, people may state falsehoods to impress the interviewers. this can lead an organization to employ wrong person.

Concealment - Means not telling the entire truth, usually by presenting one side of an issue. This is when presenting both sides would jeopardize chances for success.

Fairness - In interviewing, the ability of an interviewer to question candidate within reasonable and necessary boundaries should be exercised. Illegal interview questions include; disability issues, family and relationship issues, race or religion issues, personal history issues not related to the position.
